The Voice and Alexander Technique Total Rest and Reset program will give brand new beginners a solid introduction to body awareness for singing, and seasoned body-aware folx the opportunity to connect more deeply to the ways your body supports your voice.

Whatever your level of experience - and even if you’re not a singer! - this 10-week immersive experience will help build your inner ease and resilience so that you can cultivate the nourished, fertile soil in which to plant the seeds of growth and joy - in singing and in life.

The Whole Singer program is a good fit for you if you:

  • are brand new to the Alexander Technique and are ready to commit to making some big changes in your voice, body, and way of being in the world

  • are a seasoned body-aware singer who wants to take a deeper dive into movement and body awareness as a support for the singing voice and the daily life of a creative person and/or performer (I’m also talking to you, teachers!)

  • are looking for support around stuckness such as recurring pain or discomfort, fatigue, anxiety, overwhelm, or just feeling “off”

In our sessions we will:

  • create an individualized learning plan to optimize your strengths and build your skills to help you reach your goals (rocking the audition, finally nailing down that tenor line, finding the best way to breathe for singing the songs you want to sing)

  • talk about your body as your support and how it moves optimally in order to support the things you want to do (sing, teach, conduct, etc.)

  • look at things that may be interfering with healthy singing and moving, which could include anatomy updates, outdated beliefs about yourself and your abilities, and relearning ways to do things more efficiently

  • co-create learning resources to support your at-home practice such as vocal and movement explorations to find ease in singing and movement, curated video/audio playlists, opportunity to record your sessions, etc. I will also send you weekly lesson notes summarizing our work together and providing “try this” exercises for you to work on between sessions.

Benefits of a concentrated, immersive program:

Learning and honing any new skill takes time, patience, and repetition. Think about when you first learned to sing or ride a bike or drive a car - you needed to learn the basics about how things worked before you could really soar.

Your body is the instrument with which you play your SELF. Some of the skills you use to “play your self” include self-awareness, body-knowledge, and self-acceptance. These skills - just like singing or cycling or driving - take time, patience, and repetition to learn and hone.

This 10-week program provides you with the consistency and support you need to get your wonderful, amazing SELF working smoothly and efficiently, so that you can have the inner ease, focus, and energy to do the things that bring you joy and meaning in your life.
